The hotel was not well located for the central city area.
-
unbelievably amazing, the pick your floor/designer thing at checkin was beyond imagination

Grand problème de l'hôtel: très très difficile de trouver un taxi, parfois plus de 40 minutes d'attente, ce qui rend l'hôtel infréquentable pour les affaires!

The hotel was much nicer than a typical hotel and had a nice edgy feel. Not spectacular, but certainly a better experience than a chain hotel.

Hotel Puerta America is breathtaking. Beautiful rooms, great public spaces, excellent restaurant and a fun bar (enclosed) on the roof. It had a rare combination of business functionality and outstanding aesthetics and design. It was fun to hang out in my room with a huge bathtub/rainfall shower, comfortable furniture, and great views. The problems I found, however, were an outrageously overpriced brunch -- 45 Euros with tax for a small buffet offering; mediocre location....although close to the airport it is still 20 Euro taxi ride and getting virtually anywhere else in Madrid took 45 minutes.

the rooms were great , and bar and public spaces good although they should employ staff that are not upset when you want a drink at 12.30 and they close at 1AM, the resturant was very pleasant but the room service was way overpriced for the standard of its service other 4*hotels in the same city such as the URBAN offer a way better standard of service,,,,its a nice hotel -but i think 5***** "GL" a little over rated.

Design savy

Hotel Puerta America is without doubt the most uber cool place the Spanish capital has to offer. I felt as if I had been transported into another dimension. This ambitious project has no equal. Friendly French staff further made my stay enjoyable.

Two or three floors are very well designed, or at least look impressive.
-
The hotel itself was spectacular and a truly unique experience. The rooms, the view and the concept were even better in person than advertised.
-
The atmosphere is relaxed and cool and the staff are brilliantRestaurant was stylish and food was excellent

This is a treat for design and architecture junkies - you get to stay in a gallery!
