    What I liked:

“The hotel is located very close to all the major attractions of the medina, which is a plus. You can literally walk on foot to all the points of interest listed in the guides from the hotel.

Another plus is that the hotel including the rooms and the public areas is very artistically decorated with traditional moroccan colours and ornaments + has authentic furniture.

The roof terrace with views of medina and views of storks which nest just 100 meters from the hotel was also very impressive.”

What the hotel could do better:

“Despite being beatifully decorated, the hotel could do better by investing in maintainnance/upgrade of electrical and plumbing infrastructure. The shower was sprinkling in the wrong direction +

Because of problems with electricity we had to change rooms. We found the other room (Silver room) much better than the previous room (Berber room).

In summary, we thought that paying 290 euro per night for this hotel was probably a little bit too much.”

    What I liked:

“ The service was excellent and very personal. I was there for 2 nights and would go again….. the staff made my stay enjoyable... I was assigned a guide to take me through the city and they even managed to get me a table at DAR YAQOT for dinner which is not an easy thing to get......”

What the hotel could do better:

    “Nothing; Had a wonderful stay!”

    What I liked:

“Where to begin with our love of this hotel? Upon arrival we were greeted with a cool washcloth and mint tea - an excellent way to begin any stay. Dar Les Cigognes is located within the Medina in Marrakech, though it is a 10-to-15 minute walk from the Djemma el-Fna. That wasn't a problem for us - the walk allowed us to find great patisseries, metalworkers, and other items we would have missed had we stayed right near the Djemma.

The staff of the hotel were always available to us for anything from recommendations, to putting together an exquisite 3-course meal for us on the terrace on our last night.

The room we had (Silver Room) was amazing. A beautiful four-post bed along with a sitting area and a huge bathroom made it a true sanctuary from the frenzy of Marrakech. My wife & I were both amazed that the sun was completely blocked out by the blinds, despite it being very bright while we were there.

Dar Les Cigognes offers a breakfast on their terrace each morning. I encourage everyone to take advantage of it (depending on your room rate, it may be an extra), as you get a bowl of fresh fruit, a basket of pastries, the bread of the day, and your choice of coffee, tea, or Moroccan Mint Tea. The latter was our choice and gave us the refreshment we needed to spend the day wandering the beautiful city.

We will definitely return to Dar Les Cigognes on our next visit to Marrakech.”

What the hotel could do better:

“Absolutely nothing. This was the high point of our 2 week trip which took us from London to Marrakech to Granada.”

    What I liked:

“It was an almost magical refuge from the dust and bustle of the medina, hidden behind a discreet little door in a wall on a quiet street...coming into the cool, quiet courtyard with its babbling fountain and tiny singing birds nesting in the 'indoor' trees, made us feel as if we were characters in a novel. The service was warm, efficient and unobtrusive and we felt more like guests than customers at all times. The manager was especially friendly and assiduous.”

What the hotel could do better:

“Really, nothing. I think if you are a traveller who values luxe appointments and concierge services then maybe this is not for you, but if you are an ex-backpacker who values authenticity and adventure as well as comfort and beauty, then this place will charm the harem pants off you.”
