    What I liked:

“The Doug Fir restaurant is pretty neat and the food was decent. I honestly cannot say I liked any aspect of this hotel aside from the location.”

What the hotel could do better:

“The hotel was cheaply remodeled, moldy, dank, stinky and very dirty. The rooms smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. We changed our room because the lock was broken on the first room. It was a major disappointment seeing the hotel first hand. We arrived in December when it is quite cold in Portland and we had to sleep with all of our clothes on since the heat did not function at all. If I were 18 and needed a place to flop down after partying all night it might be OK to stay here, but for the cost you could stay somewhere quite nice!”

    What I liked:

“I've never met a more knowledgeable, friendly staff. The rooms were clean and the location was perfect for exploring the city - I especially like being able to walk to downtown.”

What the hotel could do better:

“I stayed here three years ago and had the same bed, same furniture, and the same appliances and fixtures. This hotel hasn't been updated in a long time and many of these items are looking very shabby. The only thing that's changed are the room rates. I believe I paid 50% more for the same room. I'm not sure I'll stay here again - there's got to be a better value boutique hotel in Portland these days.”

    What I liked:

“The staff at Jupiter is very friendly and helpful. The food is great and affordable. I will stay there again.”

What the hotel could do better:

“We were in Portland for a wedding. I should have thought it out and found a more suitable place for my parents to stay. They were not as excited as I was about the rooms, music and overall edgy atmosphere. You may read reviews from this hotel from other people who did not know what to expect and rated it poorly... Jupiter just isn't for everyone.”

    What I liked:

“Totally hip and cool. Fabulous location and price. Great food at the Doug Fir Restaurant. Vegetarian options! Very helpful, pleasant personnel.”

What the hotel could do better:

“Can't think of anything... but it does require a sense of humor on Saturday night. It can get a bit loud.”
